In Daytime and First-Year classes, Silver Dragon teaches Simplified Yang Style Tai Chi using a number of short forms including the Yang Style 24. Intermediate level classes are working with the William C C Chen Yang Style 60 movement form. All classes use Qigong exercises that focus on simple routines you can do on your own to balance the body's energy and maintain health and well-being.
Classes consist of warm-ups to loosen muscles and joints, Qigong (energy work) to focus the mind and relax the body and Tai Chi form, principles, and fundamentals work. All classes end with a short Qigong exercise.
This class will introduce students to this ancient martial and movement system that can help alleviate stress, calm the mind, improve balance and circulation, and increase flexibility. This class can be repeated as many times as the student needs to feel comfortable before moving on to the more challenging intermediate program. No experience necessary.
classes use formats and materials similar to the First Year program but include additional, more advanced, exercises to allow for continued growth in skills. These classes are suitable for all levels of experience (from no experience to many years).
classes are intended to allow students to move to the next level in their practice and include more advanced teachings and practices. Students are encouraged to make time during the week to "play" with the material presented in each week's class. Requirement for Intermediate: 2 years’ experience or permission of the instructor.
